after seemingly coming out of nowhere, your old droog set the internet aflame in 2014 with his self-titled debut ep, catching the attention of bloggers all over the web from new york magazine’s vulture to nahright. before long, conspiracy theories started and people began to posit that droog was another older, legendary new york rapper in disguise. profiled in the new yorker, droog (meaning “friend” in russian) set the record straight about who he was: a twenty-something ukrainian immigrant who fell in love with hip-hop when he arrived in south brooklyn as a small child. the timbre of his voice resembled that of a hip-hop legend but droog’s content had more to it than street dreams or observations from a project window. his music reflected his own unique life experience as he referenced everything from sports, to crime, to seinfeld and c-span in his rhymes. he was an intelligent hoodlum with a stand-up comedian’s sense of humor—unafraid to be as self-deprecating as he was self-aggrandizing.

invaderband are a garage/artrock band assembled in 2012 in derry, northern ireland by mancunian singer, guitarist and songwriter adam leonard who enlisted local musicians to voltage-enhance his dystopian post-punk songs.
leonard has a prolific history as a musician with an extensive back catalogue of solo and collaborative work, and was an occasional member of one of stewart lee’s favourite bands, the owl service. he was also the winner of the uk city of culture 2013 resonate award for best song. invaderband’s lead guitarist / synthmeister is chris mcconaghy aka our krypton son. bass frequencies are provided by gavin mccartney (of here comes the landed gentry, the murder balladers) and drums are handled by rion mccartney (on the album) and john goodman (live).
invaderband’s debut single the implausible man was issued on record store day 2015 and the follow-up, attack of the pod people arrived in december ‘15. the singles were picked up by local, regional and national bbc radio, with the latter making it onto the bbc 6music recommended playlist.

cybordelics was founded in 1993 in stuttgart, germany. in the same year, mike s., milan zemanec and daniel varga aka cybordelics released their hit adventures of dama on sven väth’s label harthouse. the record climbed up the uk dance charts to the 2nd place. people from london to germany, especially in the legendary omen club in frankfurt, danced to their techno anthems until the late afternoon. today’s artists like ricardo villalobos, sven väth, gregor tresher, chris liebing, gerd janson or anthony rother were at the omen club when this record was played for the first time, and they still consider adventures of dama a milestone in techno history. 23 years later, the new harthouse label begins 2016 with a remix ep, featuring remixes by ricardo villalobos, butch, tuff city kids, starting a new era of the harthouse story.
